Harvest Home
(October 1998)

The Harvest Moon shines through my window
As my heart yearns to be by your side.
Here beneath Luna's light, my thoughts take flight,
And become even harder to hide.

In times of yore, this moon marked the time,
For the harvest of bountiful fields.
But when do I reap? And what can I keep
If perchance I find something that's real?

I cannot be with you tonight, even though
The moon's fullness tugs at my soul.
Looking around, without making a sound,
I think about reaching my goal.

My goal, of course, is to harvest home
Your love, and to give you mine.
The seeds once sown are now quite grown
Though their bounty was once hard to find.

Hard to find for a while, but now
As Autumn blows in with the leaves
What began in Spring, as a tiny thing,
Is now something in which I believe.
